EMS muscle building training

EMS muscle building training using electrical muscle stimulation

What is EMS training?

Electrical impulses are transmitted to individual muscle groups via electrodes. The muscles contract as they would during normal exercise. Tailored to each individual trainee, specific muscle groups can be targeted. For example, the core muscles lose strength through daily desk work. The ligaments in the hips and legs shorten over time. Targeted EMS training effectively helps to strengthen the core muscles and counteract the shortening of the ligaments, provided that a trained EMS trainer also offers exercises that improve mobility. This relieves pressure on the spine and eliminates back pain. Deeper muscles that cannot be reached through conventional strength training are particularly stimulated.

EMS training as a complementary component of individual personal training

Special EMS studios offer standardized training programs. As part of our personal training, EMS training serves as a supplement and further component of a comprehensive exercise program—individually tailored to your personal goals. Strength training does not replace endurance training. A balanced combination of both leads to optimal results.

Is stimulation current dangerous for the human body?

Everyone should put themselves in professional hands. Severe muscle soreness should not be a result of training. This is because it is caused by small muscle fiber tears that occur when training is done improperly. Nobody wants that. It is always better to stop just before the muscle soreness sets in. You will feel that you have done something for your body without feeling any pain.

Why is a personal trainer important for EMS training?

First of all, a thorough medical history must be taken by the personal trainer. This will determine whether the trainee has any medical conditions or other risks. For example, type II diabetics are not allowed to do EMS training because of the risk of hypoglycemia. Other medical conditions that should be ruled out include arteriosclerosis, untreated high blood pressure, cancer, and others. Circumstances such as pregnancy should also be considered. Once all of this has been checked, you can look forward to effective and safe training!

The advantages of muscle building training with EMS

  • Your basal metabolic rate, the calories you burn daily at rest, increases with more muscle mass. This means your muscles burn more calories than when they are untrained.
  • Beautiful muscles make your skin appear firmer.
  • Additional endurance training melts away fat and makes you look more defined.
  • In muscle-led joints, such as the shoulder, strong muscles help to relieve and stabilize the joint. This reduces or completely eliminates pain. Compared to conventional training, this also builds up the deeper muscles.
  • A straight posture makes everyone look more attractive.
